Communications Toolkit

This new guide sets out useful tips for organising and running meetings and reducing the number of meetings you attend.

Communications strategy

The Finance Division has a communications strategy in place which is available on request from the Communications team.

Finance Communciations Team

The Finance Communications team is responsible for all internal (to the Finance Division) and external communications (with other University departments). We issue regular communications about the Oracle Financials systems, publish the Finance Bulletin and are generally responsible for ensuring all University departments have the information they need to complete their finance jobs successfully.

Internally, we also organise events for staff, such as the Coffee Conversations, All Staff Briefings and we support any social events where we can. We work on the Staff Engagement Programme and with the Staff Forum on initiatives such as the finance reward scheme, the changes to the PDR scheme, and our induction programme.

For more information on the team and the current members, please refer to our team profile.

Key information you need to know as a member of the Finance Division

As a member of the Finance Division, you have a personal responsibility to ensure that you meet the standards required by the Finance Division and University policies and procedures. To help with this, the following information identifies key policies or regulations that define expected behaviours for all staff.

These should be used as key reference documents. Some define mandatory requirements (like the Finance Regulations and IT Security Policy), while others identify recommended practice (such as the departmental financial processes).

Living our values

Underpinning this approach are the four values that Finance Division staff are expected to show in their dealings with others, with each other, with colleagues across the University and with external stakeholders:

We should strive to ensure that these qualities are evident in the way we apply the above policies and procedures. You can find out more on Our Values page.
